This article reflects some aspects of the process of qualitative transformation of the country’s production capacity based on large-scale introduction and dissemination of innovations because they are essential for a sustainable growth and rising economic development. The dynamism and the level of development of the innovative sphere can provide an intensive type of economic growth at the same time providing a knowledge-based economic desolation. Equitable participation in global competition for innovation and cooperation with states that already have rich experience in innovation requires from the Republic of Moldova a rapid change of the technological order as well as the acceptance of a course based on economic value added generated from the capital of innovation-research and knowledge. In these circumstances the transition of the national economy to innovational type makes a non-linear economic growth with rhythms of accelerated development.
